HUMP! Film Spotlight: Sovereign Tool

Streaming online as part of the Spring 2026 collection

Meet Dom Miguel and Jaylin Quartz, creators and stars of 2026 Spring HUMP! film Sovereign Tool. The film with THAT (you know the one) single-leg suspension scene. In Sovereign Tool, viewers are given an unabashed window into the work done between a Dom and his favorite Tool.

Dom Miguel and Jaylin Quartz talked to us about chemistry, trust, safety, and their own personal journey of de-shaming and claiming their sexuality as kinky, pro-sex switches.

Jaylin Quartz: When we first met, you were like, “hey do you think you can do a single-leg suspension?” And I [said] I don't know, but I would love to try…”

What Did You Discover About Yourself While Making This Film?

Dom Miguel: I'm pretty sure what I said was “I have a narrative, it's kind of fucked up, but I think you're gonna love it

Jaylin Quartz: Right, well, then my brain was like, “what kind of fucked up?” And then when I heard it, I was like oh my god, this is like fucked up with love. In that moment, it really sunk in,  “oh this is our dynamic.”

What Do You Hope Audiences Feel When Watching Your Film?

Jaylin Quartz: There's a hope that people will see BDSM bondage kink as an art form.

Dom Miguel: This is something that I definitely wanted to have come through; bondage, domination, submission aren't necessarily brutality, but they're portrayed that way in porn a lot.

That's not how I experience those things in real life, it's like this moment where we can be so tender and another moment where we can be so rough, and the contrast between those things being able to experience that whole spectrum together and playing ancient roles that just feel cathartic and tasty to play together to experience that much trust is beautiful and feels so good.

How Do You Relate to the Kink Community?

Jaylin Quartz: This is something that we share in our philosophy of pro sex culture de-shaming and claiming my sexuality, my sensuality, my creative voice feels valuable and important.

I mean, we're switches, so we usually have a pretty Dom/sub scenario, like I know how to boss people around

How Did Conset and Safety Shape Your Process?

Dom Miguel: I had to ask how are you doing? Are you okay? Nerve damage is a real thing, and I didn't want that to happen to you, and it went well, and I was glad that I didn't push you to stay up there any longer than we needed to to get the shot and to give you a few rotations.

Jaylin Quartz: I mean, something good to say is don't try it at home. [Dom Miguel] really researched and was testing gear, and I found it almost surprising how thoughtful you were about wanting to make sure that I was safe and that I was comfortable, and that there was time and space.

I felt very empowered and fierce, and like I was doing a really incredible thing

Advice for Submitting a Film to HUMP!?

Dom Miguel: When you're filming with somebody who you have great chemistry, is you can anchor on something and then see where you go from there, and not get hung up too much in overpreparing

Dom Miguel: Are you ready to shoot something else now?

Jaylin Quartz: I am
