HUMP! Film Spotlight: Made for This

Showing as part of the Fall 2026 HUMP! season.

This week we’re talking to filmmaker Neo Fangs! Neo is a first-time HUMP! Filmmaker, the creator of Made for This, and a strong member of their local kink community.

Neo submitted to HUMP! after creating their film for a local erotic film festival, and had the most thoughtful things to share regarding masochism, kink, and their own uniquely built dynamic with their costar IronTempleDog.

[This article contains depictions and discussions of consensual-non-consent, masochism and sadism, and impact play.]

What made you want to submit this film to HUMP!?

Neo: I didn't actually originally plan on submitting this film to HUMP! – that felt way out of my league, not a thing I could even think about.

I made it as a really intense passion project for my friend's local erotic film party. I had this idea in my head for ages, so when this opportunity came up, I grabbed my co-star IronTempleDog. It was a thing we did pretty regularly, and we really enjoyed cameras, so we had a great time with it.

It showed at the party, and it got such an insane reception. I didn't expect I had so many people coming up to me after [saying] “I really think you should try to get this into HUMP!, I think it would get in.”

So I made an entire director's cut–new and improved just for HUMP!, and I sent it into the void like, “cool, good to say I tried,” and then I got in! It’s been a wild ride since then for sure, pretty hard to process, but I'm incredibly proud of myself and my co-star, and it's just so freaking exciting!

What community does your film represent or speak to?

Neo: My film is about BDSM, but not just BDSM in general; it falls within the realm of power exchange, and someone holding all the cards and the other person watching those cards get dangled in their face–helpless to a degree within the scene.

That's a core part of who I am sexually–it is a huge part of my identity–to be a masochist, to be a submissive, to be a cute little victim (not really, just for fun!) and knowing this about myself and engaging with this kink in a way that is safe and informed and fun and exciting and sustainable came from getting involved with my local kink and BDSM scene, and meeting a bunch of people that became chosen family to me–including my co-star.

What do you hope audiences feel first watching your film?

Neo: I made Made for This with the hope it would make people feel two things at the same time.  I love a dialectic; I love confusion, I love contrast. So my film is half comedy, and half really, really dark scary shit.

I really do want people to be watching it and unsure of how to react. I want them to hear the [hilarious] dialogue falling out of my mouth, but it comes out while something kind of messed up is happening. The whole thing is a little creepy, almost trope-y, but then we flip it around. So I really want people to be sitting there, a little uncomfortable, a little more turned on, and have things to think about later — why they were feeling those things.

It might not be for everyone (and that is okay) because it’s for me, and I know there will be people out there that it’s absolutely for them, and they will see it and go, “yeah, that's what I want.”

What I'm most excited to showcase from our film, though, is my favorite kink, which is rough body-play, and frankly I don't see a lot of it in erotic film these days.

You see a lot of spanking; you see a lot of implements, but you don't see a lot of someone's body being the weapon. So it's a little bit jarring, cause it feels less like what people imagine BDSM is. There's no flogger, there's no cane, but there are fists, and there are boots, and it is the type of play that feels the most like home to me

To be able to watch [our film] happen from IronTempleDog's point of view in our film was so hot and so fun. I really hope it makes people think about what counts as impact play and what counts as masochism and sadism, and what you're allowed to do and not do.

What does it look like to be on set for you? How did consent shape the way this film was made?

Neo: This is a thing [IronTempleDog and I] have been doing for quite some time, and it's definitely a skill that needs to be learned like any other thing. It's one that does make people uncomfortable because it looks like you're just getting beat up because…you are…well I am. masochist’s laughter

There's probably gonna be some folks that get a little confused or startled by how rough it is, and how much it takes after less “sexy hitting” and more violence. But for me, that is the hottest thing in the world, and we've made a container where I get to enjoy it.

I hope other people who might enjoy that too can watch and feel good to see it represented in a film like the one we made, where consent is the plot point, and it's very visibly rough. It's interesting to think about the ways I can show that this is a thing that I want to be doing and I love to be doing–it’s my happy place to be down there on the floor, but there's no behind-the-scenes, and there's no chat with the actors after, so I wanted to incorporate it into the storyline. While this thing looks awful and sketchy and scary, deeply inside me, as the character, it's really just myself. This is where I want to be; I think that comes across in our dialogue.

I hope it comes across in the way we interact with each other, even though you just see

IronTempleDog's hand. This film was made the way it was because consent is woven into the ways we interact with each other. I wouldn't be making the same film with someone I've never met before. I would be doing a totally different concept. This film was made for the relationship my co-star and I had, where this was normal, and a thing we did on the regular, and when we got behind the camera we didn't really have the clearest plan. We just said, “let's do what we love to do, and hopefully people enjoy it.”

Why did HUMP! feel like the right place for this story?

Neo: I knew HUMP! was the right place for this story once I got encouraged enough to do it.

It is an opportunity for me to make the kind of porn I want to make for me and not just the type of porn that is allowed to be put out into the world and marketed for a very specific demographic. It just feels like, ‘let's do the thing that makes you feel sexy that you're told you're not allowed to do or not allowed to let people see, and you have to do behind closed doors.’

I know there's a lot of other people doing the same thing and [they] want to see it. My thoughts on HUMP! is to be the porn you wish to see in the world.

What would you say to someone attending HUMP! for the first time?

Buckle up, it's about to get weird, or at least, I really hope it does. Keep your mind open. You're probably gonna see something that you never thought about before.

You're probably gonna see something you learn that you're like, “wow that's super interesting–I am not into that at all,” or you'll be like, “wow wait, I never thought about this thing, and now I'm gonna think about it the whole car ride home.”

I really hope everyone gets that sort of experience when they watch it.

What would you say to someone creating a film for HUMP! for the first time?

If you're thinking of filming something and submitting it to HUMP! for the first time, my only advice is just do it, do it!

Because I didn't think I would get in, I didn't think it would go anywhere; I have no film background, I am not a part of a studio. This was filmed on my iPhone and edited on like $20 software that I was learning as I went. My background was making TikToks years ago, and here I am! I'm really proud of it.

I'm so excited for people to see it, and if you limit yourself to thinking like, “I'm not a professional film person or pornstar, I will never make it,” then you won't, because you won't try. But believe me, if you show who you are and what you love to do, and you put it on camera, and you put the heart in, you’ve got a really good shot.
