HUMP! Film Spotlight: Magic Gloryhole
Showing as part of the Spring 2026 season
Meet Jamie Sinister and Adam Adam Fleisch, the filmmakers behind Magic Gloryhole. They offered us a chance to get to know them, their process, and shared what they hope HUMP! audiences walk away with after seeing their film.
What made you want to submit this film to HUMP!?
Adam: It [HUMP!] just encourages you to go as crazy as possible with the film that you're making. So nothing is off the table within the limits of consent. And I think that's extremely encouraging, also for people who maybe wouldn't produce porn otherwise.
What (if anything) did you discover about your own desire during the process?
Jamie: I had the idea to make a very oral, focused porn film that wasn't really anything I discovered about my desires during the filming. I already knew about it. So this was more like, I'm showing what I'm into, and I'm trying to show facets of what I'm into.
Adam: I think I learned that the glory holes can be so much more than what we expect them to be. I'm not sure if that's connected to my desires, but now I definitely have a wider array of fantasies that occur to me when I think of a glory hole.
Jamie: Do you want to try a glory hole now?
Adam: A fluffy one, yeah.
If your film ties into a specific community, how did you find that inspiration?
Jamie: I would say the whole glory hole scene is the cruising scene, because it's all about anonymity. I read Leo Herrera’s book Analog Cruising, and I was super fascinated about this topic, and it was definitely something that inspired the concept of Magic Glory Hole.
What do you hope audiences feel first when watching your film?
Jamie: I think I want the audience to be at first a little bit confused and be like, what is happening? But then also, entertained. [And] go out of seeing the movie with a thought of, oh, I didn't think this is what [a] glory hole could be like.
So a little bit of, I wouldn't call it educational, but more like opening someone's perception a little bit up.
Adam: I also just want them to feel wholesome and very comfortable with something that maybe they were not even interested in, or never engaged with.
If you highlighted a specific kink or act, what do you hope audiences learn?
Jamie: I like taking things that are associated with a certain act or a certain image in our society, and kind of break up the stereotype a little bit because there's so much more to things than what we think there is.
And especially a glory hole is [often thought of as] a penis coming through a wall. And it really doesn't have to be.
I mean, some genitals or some body parts are a little bit more difficult to get through the hole. But it's possible. And, it can bring really exciting experiences to different people, not only people with penises.
Let’s talk consent in porn. How did consent shape the way this film was made?
Jamie: For me, it was really important to be transparent about what we are planning to do. So the people asked to participate in it can make an educated decision.
So that was like the first step, to inform people, but then also, introducing people to each other.
And also then asking for their input or if they had input, definitely hearing that and respecting that, before and also during the shooting.
It was very important to always give choice, give them space to reject something, to make them feel that it's a safe environment to [speak about something] they do not want to do and have that heard.
What made you feel respected during the process?
Adam: We are the filmmakers. Not necessarily the main stars of the film, but I think we had some really clear guidelines that we applied in our collaboration with each other and not only with our performers.
And that was everybody knowing clearly what they have to do. What is their work. Everybody was clearly informed about the scenes as much as possible, because of course, on sets things always look a little bit different.
But I felt like we did a really good job at setting the expectations right. And, from the very beginning, it was clear to both of us which tasks we [would] be responsible for.
And it made for a really good collaboration.
How do you define ethical adult storytelling?
Jamie: It is super important that everyone knows what's going on, that they have choices in everything that they do, that their preferences are discussed, and so on. So we can adjust for something that someone would prefer or want to avoid. I also think it would be great if more porn would show a negotiation and aftercare, as well as safer sex practices.
But on top of that, more on a conceptual side, I want to also think about what is being reproduced, what and who is given a platform. What kind of stories are we showing? Have we thought about who this could be perceived, and is it necessary to do this specific thing a certain way?
Adam: I would say that it's not only about people consenting to the production that they're taking part in, but maybe it's informed consent. So again, they're properly briefed on what they're going to be doing.
And I think it's another thing. Kudos to Jamie for making a really good timeline. I think we were pretty good at judging our strengths and weaknesses of what we could conceivably do in one day of filming, and we were not really in a rush, especially for some of the more intimate scenes.
We could take our time and really give it space, and also make sure that everybody was feeling comfortable.
And I think that's just very important. Maybe from a production perspective, you know what your strengths are and what your capacities are, and that we did not overreach them.
What does care look like on a set like this?
Jamie: We also had two set care people who were taking shifts of being there, providing drinks like tea, checking in on people if they needed something to eat, and cutting fruits and stuff. Also, to remind the two of us to actually take a break to drink something, maybe go to the bathroom, because that's definitely easy to forget on a film set.
Why did HUMP! feel like the right place for this story?
Adam: For me personally, probably because Hump engages so much with humor, and thinking back, the porn that I would discuss with my friends, or I remember myself from years and years ago [at HUMP!], it was really always the humor that stuck out.
We would quote porn, either intentionally or unintentionally funny, or remember the weirdest things, and I really appreciate about them that they zero in on this, that they encourage you to go a little bit nuts
Jamie: I also like that all kinds of sexualities and all kinds of kinks definitely have a place there. As long as it's ethical, it is okay to be represented there.
What would you say to someone attending HUMP! for the first time?
Jamie: I would say to someone attending HUMP! for the first time: Good choice. Have fun.
Adam: I would say it's the perfect introduction to attending a porn film festival, because it's probably going to be the most fun and also the most eye-opening in the variety. So, yeah, cheers to that.
Jamie: Cheers to that!
What would you say to someone making a film for HUMP! for the first time?
Jamie: I would tell people to show something that they're actually into, to not be influenced so much by things they might have seen in the past in HUMP! or in other porn, but like, really think about ‘what turns me on and how can I show that in an authentic way?’ Because I think that's what speaks to audiences, and not be ashamed of being into things.
And I would also recommend that people be a little bit silly.
Adam: I would second the humor. I think you have to play your cards close to your chest when you're making something like this, something that you're personally invested in. I mean, the concept was Jamie's, and they were so into it that for me, it was extremely easy to get enthusiastic about it as well. And to then have, you know, my own vision, how it could look.
So I think it's extremely, extremely important that you do something that matters for you. And, yeah, then the work is going to be such a breeze.
